Save The Dates- Thailand Dreams Tour- September 22-30, 2018

The trip of a lifetime awaits. You are welcome to do as much or as little as you like but we think you will want to do it all. Ever dream of a vacation with white sand beaches, 5-star accommodations, food glorious food all while getting the workout of your life?

If so Thailand Dreams is for you. You will arrive at the lovely island of Koh Samui, Thailand. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a car and driver who will whisk you off to your deluxe accommodations at the lovely Ammatara Pura Pool Villa .

The accommodations are worth the trip alone.  The hotel is located directly on the beach where you are just inches from the deep blue warm waters of the ocean. The hotel has a luxurious outdoor pool with bar and restaurant where you can sunbathe, have drinks, or just lounge in one of the mini cabanas...HEAVEN ON EARTH:

The rooms are beautiful and include everything your heart could desire:  HUGE outdoor shower with sunlight peering in, and TRUST total PRIVACY, a ginormous bathtub fit for two, kitchen, washing machine, and more so much more. Did I mention all the rooms have a personal pool? Rooms are billed with double occupancy however single supplements can be arranged.      BONUS: The room also has a twin day bed. So could possibly sleep up to three in a room...which makes your cost even cheaper if you are a party of 3.

This is only the beginning. Koh Samui is a lovely little town that is known for it's Muay Thai training and exercise in general. So yes relaxation is involved but if you also want to drop a few pounds on vacation THIS is the vacation for you. This is where I began my weight loss journey almost three years ago, and I have teamed up with some of Thailand's top fitness professionals and will include: beach walks, hikes through the jungle, yoga, Muay Thai classes, Weights, Strength and Conditioning and MORE. A typical daily schedule:

630 AM: Morning beach walk, jungle hike or view points. Usually 5-10K (3-7 miles)                    9:00 AM: Breakfast provided by the hotel (included in package). This is your vacation. Eat as much or as little as you want just make good decisions. (and of course,we will always answer questions and assist when needed)                                                                                               10:30 Yoga- Get your zen in. We swap between Yin and Vinyasa every other day, so all muscle groups are covered                                                                                                                          12:00 noon: healthy organic lunch consisting of fish of the day/chicken, veggies, fresh juices or smoothie (included)                                                                                                                            1-3:00 PM- free time. Hang out on the beach, get a massage (one thai massage and one sports massage is included)                                                                                                                         3:30-4:30 Time to get physical with Strength and Conditioning                                                  5:00-7:00 PM: Muay Thai with the folks of Lamai Muay Thai. This facility changed my life. They will do the same for you.                                                                                                                          Dinner: your choice. So get out and ty the local cuisine or some of the other great eateries around town. (yes I have faves..and will advise)

Again, this was MY schedule and so far I am down 100 pounds, but you can do as little as you like and if you want even more, we can arrange private classes of Muay Thai, weight training swimming and more.

Best part...all classes and food is available along the main beach road so you don't need a car or motorbike UNLESS you want one. They are available for rental.

Schedule for week is as follows:

Saturday, September 22nd- arrivals. Your day to sleep, hang out on the beach, and if not too tired an excursion to Fisherman's Village for an early dinner.                                                                   Sunday, September 23rd- YOUR day. I will however be taking a group down to a couple of viewpoints and you just have to go to the Sunday Market. You can try every food that Thailand has to offer, pick up gifts and more. A definite must do in Samui.                                                   Monday -Friday: we eat, sleep, train (or maybe a little of everything in between)--*note: Muay Thai Lovers Thursday Night is Fight Night. So if you want to see a real Muay Thai fight this is the time we do it. Van and tickets are under 40 USD and can be purchased from Lamai Muay Thai Camp.    Saturday, September 29th : Excursion of choice...a trip to the elephant sanctuary, snorkeling, temple visits or all of the above. Whatever you want to do this is your day to get it in.               Sunday, September 30th- the end...NOOOOOOOOOOO. I know it will be hard to say goodbye but think of all the fun you've had.

********Pricing depends on how many are interested. I am aiming to keep it between $1500-$2G per person but mainly depends on rooming costs. Flights are NOT included but if you need assistance I can offer suggestions. Especially since you will more than likely need to fly into Bangkok (BKK) then take the hour flight to Samui (USM) via Bangkok Air or Thai Airlines.

Also, you can always stay a while longer. I can assist with finding a place to stay,  excursions, workouts and more. I love Koh Samui, it is like a second home to me. I know the area and people well. Let LOLA help you have the best time ever.

Questions? Please post below in comments section or email ladiesonthelam@gmail.com. In the coming weeks, I will have a page where you can get more info, make a deposit, as I will have payment plans available but trip must be paid in FULL by September 1st.

Since this is the first trip to Asia as a group, size will be limited so act quickly. If you are traveling alone but willing to share a room, there will be a questionnaire in effort to match personalities.

Please note: YOU are responsible for your own health/travel insurance, flights and anthing that is not listed or included. Shoot me a note with questions, and let's get ready to LOLA.

Thailand Dreams 2018

Kit (and Lexie too) because you already KNOW she is coming.

Sometimes Piggy (or Froggy) gotta EAT and Eat and Eat

Today in Koh Samui some ladies on the lam knew that some real clean, organic food was needed. And it was absolute Heaven.

The last two days I have gone to Vikasa Cafe which is apart of the yoga sala and yogis at Vikasa. The staff is lovely and Susu is amazing with children. Today’s chef was one of the “hot chefs” Chef Cyril. Abd seriously all of the chefs are gorgeous. It’s almost like a requirement.

But enough about the eye candy let's see the real MVP...the food. (ps the drinks aren't bad...I had the Sin Gin which was gin mixed with kale juice and pineapple...SHUT THE FRONT DOOR delicious) and The Last Straw (fresh strawberries, vodka, soda and just plain yum!)

I love Samui as it one of the healthiest places I have ever been to in this word. The medical facilities are beyond amazing, the food healthy, beautiful and mouth-watering, and the exercise/training programs rivals those in NYC, London, LA etc.

Seriously the food is delicious but the experience is life-altering. Yeah I said THAT!

And YOU Get an Avocado, and YOU get an avocado, EVERYONE HAS AVOCADO

and it was good. The END

Oh wait...you want me to continue? I had you at avocado, didn't I?

The Avocado Show is situated in the hip, and trendy De Pijp area in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Great area for shopping, drinking and you guessed it...eating. I have been looking forward to this place since I first heard about it last November. It was supposed to open early 2017, and it did.

This past February Amsterdam had a NEW yet not so leafy green...THE AVOCADO SHOW. Where every dish features avocado. A glance at the menu:

They also have a special breakfast that is not on the menu. It is basically a eggs benedict with softer bread and heavenly chorizo. It melted in my mouth...

And of course Itried there signature Avocado Daiquiri. It was surprisingly delicious, and I showed some restraint in the fact that I only had one. It was on 1030 in the morning for goodness sake.

The Avocado Daiquiri...YUM!

The Avocado Daiquiri...YUM!

Now for the real deal....the intel:

COLD HARD PLASTIC...yup you read that right..no cash, money, dinero, euros, pounds, baht...CARDS ONLY!

If you go past 1015...you WILL wait. This was my THIRD attempt to eat here. The first two were once late afternoon (1430) and then yesterday evening (after 7) each time it was over an hour wait. I decided to try for breakfast and it worked like a charm. I walked in and had my choice in tables...within 15 min the entire restaurant was FILLED. I arrived at 1015...and if I would have shown up even 15 min later ...I would have earned myself a 15-30 min wait. So GO EARLY...they open at 9.

The food was quite scrumptious and hearty. Not something I'd eat everyday but when in Amsterdam. Seriously the bread was so soft, with the avocado, and tomato based salsa with chorizo, topped with a yummy hollandaise sauce. I get excited by the memory. Now what was pleasantly surprising was the cocktail. It was sweet yet very refreshing. I could easily see myself having 10 of them...sigh.

All in all, the food is delicious and I'll definitely go again. However, I'd rather get a solid start on my day so my game plan (and I recommend you do the same) save yourself some time and get the most important meal of the day, go early for breakfast. Bonus: they still serve the booze. You're welcome.

I ATE ALL OF INDIA..and I liked it

While traveling, I love to find out different aspects of the culture but it's usually the fashion, booze, beauty and food. While in India I had lots of food...lots AND lots of food. It was Heavenly.

If you are EVER in New Delhi, the ONLY (well it's not the only one but it definitely is the BEST one) Food tour you need is run by "India Food Tour" (click on words if you want to check out their site). This tour was RIDICULOUS! And I mean that in a great way.

I signed up originally for the "Single Traveler" option. I believed it was just gonna be me and a guide trying things out. I was shocked but delighted when it was not just me but 12 others. I could tell you about how amazing everything was and write about it for days. Raj, one of the guides as well as a professional chef was perfection: funny, witty, charming, dad-like (he was always on hand with sanitizer and wipes), and boy did he know his food. He is like a wizard. He taught me more about food, blends, tastes and my pallet in six hours than I have known my entire life. I will NEVER eat food the same way again...I've been changed. I AM A BELIEVER. And I believe that pics are better than my words. This is what we ate: (*note: click on pics if slide show doesn't load to see all the food)

1) Kachori (peas & lentils) with potato curry
2) Samosa (potatoes)
3) Nagori halwa
4) Sweet Lassi
5) Fruit sandwich
6) Allo chaat
7) Naan khatai
8) Kulfi (pomegranate & saffron pistachio)-ICE CREAM
9) Chola bhatura & kulcha
10) Gulab Jamun
11) Golgappe (hallow ball with spicy water): there was both a savory and a sweet one. My fave was the sweet.
12) Mushroom Patty, Chicken patty & Shammi kebab
13) Chicken tikka rolls & Paneer rolls (YUMMY)
14) Thumbs up (soda)

My fitbit and me...and miscellaneous musings

I've become a fitbit nut ever since I learned all I have to do is the math and can figure out how much weight I've lost. I decided that while I am having my weight checked on a weekly basis I do NOT want to know what the scales say. I will find out at the very end and I can happily wait for it. The last two days were pretty brutal. I think I will post a schedule of the last two days on my next entry. I'm just dog tired and ready for bed. I try to stay up until 10pm. I usually get up around 515...go to the gym to foam roll and stretch for 15 min before we leave for the hike.

This week I was finally bumped up to the next advanced group. While I am not a pro by any means I just was beginning to feel a bit stilted. I would rather be in the middle or last of a faster group than being far ahead in the slower one. I feel like it makes others feel bad, and I feel horrible as well as I don't think I am getting the workout I desire. Well today was tough. I have one more hike day here at Movara and then on Thursday I am attempting "Stop Sign" one more time as I'm trying to get the full 8.5 miles in. Friday is the 10K and Saturday...I AM GOING HOME. Thank you lil baby Jesus..I am ready to go. See my family and get my life back.

I've been away for almost 5 and 1/2 weeks, between shooting a film and Utah...mama is ready to see her humble abode.

Some of the best highlights have been phone calls and facetime from my friends and family. You never know how much you miss them until they aren't around. I can't wait to go and see my sis, brother and his kids, and my dancing ladies in NYC, as well as LaD and others.

While the food has been hit or miss during the beginning of the week they hit it out of the park with today's meal. It was OBSCENELY good...especially lunch...it was STEAK.

Here is Sunday's Fine fare:

The breakfast was yummy and filling. Lunch salad was ok. And for dinner I went and had a bit of salad off the salad bar, the chicken without the masala sauce, and ate maybe a 1/3 of the cookie as it wasn't my fave dessert.

Now Monday, they put on their Game Menu and Chef Sam went to town...and that day was a good day....

However today TUESDAY..well Chef Sam showed and SHOWED OUT...the food today was damn near OFF THE CHAIN...(well lunch was...dinner's dessert is just to show you...I didn't eat it)

So that has been the food thus far...exercise is crazy here...I burn between 2500-3500 calories a day between the hikes and the 4-6 classes we take daily. It's a lifestyle I know I won't be able to keep up at home but I do know I can do at least 2 hours per day. One in the am and one in the evening. And once I return I want to lose 1-2 pounds per week. Hopefully by the time I go home I will be less than 50 pounds to goal weight. That sounds like a lot but after you've lost 100...well 50 more seems like child's play, especially since I know get and UNDERSTAND the math behind weight loss.

Oh yeah and I saw a "dead" body today...but that's a story for another time.

Peace out

K
